ASUCA EXCO PAYS CONGRATULATORY/ SOLIDARITY VISITS TO PROVOST, DEPUTY PROVOST

 

The Academic Staff Union of Colleges of Agriculture (ASUCA) EXCO, on Tuesday September 15th, payed congratulatory visits to the Provost/ CEO and the Deputy Provost of the College.

The Union felicitated with both appointees, stating that their appointments did not come as a surprise given their proven track record of Academic excellence and prudence.

The Union used the opportunity to express the Goodwill, solidarity and willingness of its members to cooperate with the current leadership with the aim of achieving enviable goals.

In his response, Dr Jude Okpara expressed great delight with the visit and reiterated his commitment to the ASUCA struggle. Going down memory lane, he recounted the various struggles they endured (as unionists) which has culminated in the successful registration of the union. He stated that he is ready to work with the Union, pledging not to fail the Union, the College and the Nation.

On his part, the deputy Provost Dr Jabil Irimiya, praised the Union for staying strong and resolute despite the loss of some of it's key members. He expressed his happiness at the visit and charged members to feel free to approach his office stating that he will operate an open door policy.

The entire exco and members of ASUCA heartily felicitates with both appointees and wish them a very fruitful tenure.
